Well, that certainly escalated quickly, didn't it? I'm happy to say that so far we've stayed healthy. I've been working from home since March 11th and the R2 has been home from daycare since around then. We've been making the best of it. I'm very thankful for the spring time weather that allows us to spend a lot of time outside! We probably have the most well-groomed garden we've ever had.

We've spent a lot of time on bikes, exploring the neighborhood. Traffic is lower than normal, which is nice because it feels a lot safer.

Even though we home school, our normal week consist of visits to the library, the zoo, and art museums. This definitely does not feel "normal." At one point, C told me, "Can we go somewhere today? Anywhere. I don't care if we go to jail." Even R2 tries to tell us, in her own way. She will often take mine or A's hand and walk us out to the truck, and point at the door. Or she will put on a hat, a backpack, and shoes, and wave "Goodbye!"

It's not easy, but at least we are well and I still have a job. This is going to be a tough time for a lot of people, and I pray that God gives us the wisdom to know where best to share our resources (Luke 3:11).
Prior to The Big Pause, C did her Suzuki Book 1 & 2 recitals. She did great!

We also played for my grandmother at her assisted living facility. I'm glad we were able to visit her prior to all visitation being prohibited.

My grandmother does not really understand what is going on right now (she has advanced dementia). My aunt has been video chatting with her, but it's not easy to do. My grandfather visited once, but after she cried and didn't understand why he wouldn't come in, he hasn't been able to go back.

In early February, an Uber driver mistook his accelerator for the break and hit A in our 2002 Toyota Tacoma. A's dad bought her the truck new when she was in college, and we had taken really good care of it (it only had 140k miles) so we were very sad that it was totaled. I'm glad that it served its purpose: protecting A and the girls. No one, fortunately, was hurt.
We build a ton of memories with that truck, including the six week road trip we took when moving from New York to Nashville. Every time I see a similar model Tacoma, I get hit with a little bit of sads.

I'll leave you with this. The girls have really been into Think About Things by Daði Freyr. How's your quarantine going?
